Grant for Fellowship
Enabling a pain center in Switzerland to employ a fellow in training for 12 months.
Promoting education, strengthening neuromodulation
Interventional pain medicine – and neuromodulation in particular – is a highly specialized field in which clinical experience, technical skill, and interdisciplinary collaboration must go hand in hand. Building these competencies requires time, structured curricula, and centers that are prepared to systematically mentor the next generation.
With the Grant Fellowship Neuromodulation, the SSIPM, together with its industry partners, supports one Swiss pain center each year in hiring and comprehensively training a fellow for twelve months. In this way, we make a concrete investment in the next generation of pain specialists – and thus directly in the quality of patient care in Switzerland.

2026 Funding – CHF 80,000
In the summer of 2025, all pain centers in Switzerland (Type A or B) interested in funding in the amount of CHF 80,000 to support the training of a fellow in the field of Interventional Pain Medicine, including neuromodulation, were invited to apply.
Four centers submitted excellent applications. The selection was based on various criteria:
Diversity (selection of candidates)
The center's experience in teaching and previously received funding
Candidate profile (interest in pain therapy, scientific commitment)
Future commitment of the candidates to pain therapy
Fellowship program and appropriate budget
The applications were carefully reviewed by the members of the SSIPM Board, who voted anonymously and without conflicts of interest. Voting members directly involved in an applicant center were excluded.
