Interdisciplinary Specialization SSIPM

With the SSIPM Interdisciplinary Specialization in Interventional Pain Management (IDSP SSIPM), physicians from various disciplines can document that they have acquired in-depth knowledge of interventional pain management through targeted postgraduate and continuing education.

The purpose of the program is to define the requirements for obtaining an interdisciplinary specialization using a uniform concept for the various disciplines – thereby ensuring the quality and safety of interventional pain therapies in the area of the spine, spinal roots, and sympathetic ganglia.

Continuing education program

Modular curriculum of the SSIPM

The SSIPM continuing education program has a modular structure and comprises a total of 12 training days in four course blocks. It provides a structured approach to all competencies for interventional pain medicine – from physiological and diagnostic basics to spinal and peripheral procedures and neuromodulation.

The courses are led by experienced pain specialists, are limited to a maximum of 20 participants, and combine theory with hands-on training on anatomical models. The completed modules can be credited toward the IDSP-SSIPM.

Requirements include a federally recognized specialist title (Anesthesiology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Rheumatology, or Neurology), at least two years of clinical experience, SSIPM membership, and current BLS/ALS certification.
