Strong Voices for Interventional Pain Management: SSIPM Joins the FMCH

Eglisau, September 27, 2026 – The Swiss Society for Interventional Pain Management (SSIPM) officially became a member of the FMCH (Foederatio Medicorum Chirurgicorum Helvetica) as of September 23, 2026. The FMCH plenary assembly unanimously approved the admission of the SSIPM.

As a professional society representing 680 members, the SSIPM is continuously committed to advancing interventional pain therapy in patient care, education, and research, as well as safeguarding the professional and political interests of its physicians.

In light of current developments and challenges in the Swiss healthcare system, a coordinated and strong representation of interests is becoming increasingly vital. Key tariff, regulatory, and healthcare policy matters present substantial common ground between the objectives of the SSIPM and the surgical and invasive specialty societies organized within the FMCH.

By joining the FMCH, the SSIPM aims to intensify interprofessional exchange, contribute its specialized expertise in interventional pain medicine, and work alongside the FMCH to present a unified, persuasive voice to policymakers and the public.
